It’s December 31, 2010 and the last day it will ever be 2010 again. People use this day to look back on another year gone by and look forward to what the new year will bring and with this blog post we want to do the same. Companies, like people, change over time, accomplishing things they didn’t once believe were possible. We believe, and always have, that it’s because of the great people in our organization that we are able to continue to achieve new goals and create opportunities across the state of Texas. Next week will be all about looking forward but today, just for one blog post, let’s look back and celebrate some key accomplishments in 2010. This year, because we have fantastic employees and enthusiastic customers, The Saxton Group was able to:
(Be sure and click on the links below too, many lead to videos on our YouTube channel to watch video from the past year)
- Open 5 new restaurants and (2 McAlister’s and 3 Pinkberry locations) with that hire or promote 5 new General Managers and a handful of additional Assistant Managers
- Give thousands of dollars to charitable organizations in our communities through programs like the Celebrity Sandwich Challenge and Tea Town USA including The North Texas Food Bank, The Family Place, parks and recreation departments in Longview, College Station, and Tyler; Hunger Busters, Share our Strength, The Alzheimer’s Alliance, Fuzzy Friends Waco and many more
- Longview, TX won Tea Town USA thanks to a huge show of support from a town that loves McAlister’s and a management team deeply connected to their community
- Rename and rebrand the company, transitioning from Saxton Pierce Restaurant Corporation to The Saxton Group in keeping with who we are today
- Launch a new website and a this blog
- Interact with 18,500 customers on Facebook, over three times the 6,000 Facebook Fans we started 2010 with
- Kirk Lanier was named to the McAlister’s Deli Chairman’s Circle
- Added 1 new Regional Director who was promoted from within
- Had 2nd highest opening week sales in McAlister’s system history in Amarillo, TX
The list could go on and that is just a few accomplishments we made together this year. Cheers to you and your family to the New Year and we can’t wait to see what 2011 brings!
