I’m headed West today for the McAlister’s Deli Amarillo Grand Opening party tonight from 5:00 – 9:00 PM.  We can’t wait to meet the many in our newest community who are anxious to try McAlister’s Famous Sweet Tea and become familiar with our promise of everyday hospitality.

One of the hardest (and most rewarding) things about the restaurant business is opening a new location.  It takes a tremendous amount of time and a huge amount of effort from a whole team of people to take a new location from initial site selection all the way to opening day.

Luckily, The Saxton Group has an amazing team in place to help get these restaurants open and ready to serve our guests.  In this case, Melissa Watkins, the Regional Director in West Texas, has worked long hours on building our team in Amarillo and handling the millions of little details that go into getting a restaurant open.  Matt Saxton oversees all aspects of the construction process and ensures we have a beautiful and functional facility on opening day.  Phillip Denney leads our HR and Training department which allows us to open up with a staff ready to serve our guests on day one.  Amarillo will certainly want to meet General Manager Danny Storey, a local to the area, after the opening fanfare we’re lucky to leave the restaurant in Danny’s capable hands.
